KUALA LUMPUR, 16 May 2026 – MG Motor Malaysia is proud to have supported the MG EV Owners Convoy initiative, an activity that brought together members of the MG electric vehicle community for an engaging and well-coordinated driving experience across selected routes in Malaysia.
The convoy was officially flagged off in the morning at Batu Caves, marking the start of an estimated 176-kilometre journey covering Batu Caves, Genting Highlands, and Bentong, before returning to Kuala Lumpur. A total of 26 vehicles and more than 50 participants joined the initiative, featuring MG models including the MG4, MGS5, and several units of the Cyberster.
The route included a drive through the highlands toward Genting Highlands, where participants experienced the stable handling, responsive performance, and refined driving characteristics of MG electric vehicles on winding and elevated roads. The journey continued to Bentong, where members visited Chamang Waterfall and made a stop at the well-known local coffee shop Kedai Kopi Tan Kow Po, before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.
The convoy highlighted MG’s signature British Driving Dynamics, demonstrating confident road stability, balanced handling, and overall driving comfort across varied terrains. The extended journey also showcased the practical long-range capability of the participating MG EV models, reinforcing their suitability for inter-state travel as well as everyday driving.
Organized and conducted by the MG EV Car Club Malaysia (MEVCM), the initiative aligns with the club’s objectives to strengthen fellowship among members, promote safe and responsible convoy culture, and encourage knowledge sharing within the growing EV community. Convoy events are organized biannually, and the club has been conducting convoy activities since June 2024, marking nearly two years of continuous community engagement.
Established and registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia in January 2025, MEVCM currently comprises over 50 official members and a wider online community of more than 250 participants. The club continues to expand its engagement efforts to support collaboration, information exchange, and positive interaction among MG EV owners across Malaysia.
Looking ahead, MEVCM will participate in upcoming automotive events, including Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS), where MG Motor Malaysia is set to showcase its latest developments and future direction. The club also plans to organize member gatherings and family-friendly activities in conjunction with the exhibition, along with additional convoy initiatives later in the year, culminating in its annual club dinner.
The successful completion of the convoy initiative reflects the continued collaboration between the MG EV community and MG Motor Malaysia in supporting sustainable mobility and the growth of electric vehicle adoption in the country.
