Bookings Now Open for MGS5 EV COM and LUX Variants Across Two Battery Options

Following the estimated price reveal of the all-new B-Segment MGS5 EV SUV starting from RM115,000, MG Motor Malaysia today announced its exclusive early bird package at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025. The launch event was graced by Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii), and Ts. Nizmar Mohd Nazar, Deputy CEO of MARii, alongside MG Motor Malaysia’s senior management team Emory QiFeng, Managing Director, and Lee Wen Hsiang, Chief Operations Officer of SAIC Motor Malaysia.

Customers who place a booking for the MGS5 EV during the Malaysia Autoshow with a RM500 booking fee will be entitled to an exclusive early bird package. This includes 10 times more savings offering meaningful value to early supporters ahead of the model’s official price announcement. In addition, early bird customers will receive a complimentary 7kW Wallbox AC charger to support convenient home charging¹.

MGS5 EV Variants and Performance

The MGS5 EV will be available in two variants – COM and LUX. The COM variant offers a choice of either a 49kWh or 62kWh battery delivering up to 340km and 430km of WLTP range, respectively. The 62kWh battery is standard in the LUX variant which also provides up to 430km of range. All variants deliver 170PS and 250Nm of torque via a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration, currently the only one in its segment and come equipped with 7kW AC charging capabilities.

The LUX variant further supports DC fast charging of up to 150kW, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in just 26 minutes. It also enhances the driving experience with premium features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, leather-fabric seats with perforated MG logos, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated leather steering wheel, wireless phone charging pad, six premium speakers, a powered tailgate, and a 360-degree surround view camera.

Both variants feature LED headlamps with ‘Racing Flag’ themed DRLs and MG’s signature Arch Taillights with the same distinctive motif. Additional highlights include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.8-inch central infotainment touchscreen with voice command, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and MG’s iSMART connectivity system. Boot space is generous, offering up to 1,441 litres including the underfloor compartment.

Designed with an ultra-thin Horizontal Battery Layout, the MGS5 EV maximises interior space while maintaining a low centre of gravity setting a new benchmark in its segment. Its advanced adaptive pressure control system minimises battery cell expansion, enhancing both safety and battery longevity.

British Driving Dynamics at Malaysia Autoshow

Visitors to the Malaysia Autoshow can explore MG’s full lineup on display, including the all-new MGS5 EV, MG5, MG4, MG HS, and the iconic MG Cyberster—the world’s first all-electric soft-top roadster.

The MGS5 EV will be available for test drives exclusively at the Autoshow giving visitors the first and only opportunity to experience it ahead of its official price launch. Test drives for the MG5, MG4, and MG HS will also be available throughout the event.

Customers who place a booking on the MG Cyberster will receive a 1-year Unlimited Charging package with JomCharge featuring Auto Charge functionality, a Complimentary 7kW Wallbox AC Charger², and an exclusive limited-edition MG Cyberster Diecast Model³.

Visitors can take advantage of a RM5,000 rebate on the MG5 and MG HS, or opt for flexible ownership of the MG4 with monthly instalments starting from as low as RM974. All bookings made at the Malaysia Auto Show will receive a complimentary gift⁴.
