SAIC Motor Malaysia recently wrapped up its first ever MG exclusive media drive with the all-new MG5 sedan, hosting 28 prominent media representatives for an unforgettable journey through the scenic southern routes of Peninsular Malaysia.

The event commenced in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, where SAIC Motor Malaysia’s Chief Operating Officer, Wen Hsiang, along with the management team, officially flagged off the convoy. The drive aimed to highlight the MG5’s standout features, including its sporty fastback coupe design and class-leading spacious interior, positioning it as the largest B-segment sedan available.

The first stop on the route was the historic town of Melaka, where participants enjoyed a relaxing lunch and driver swap. This break allowed everyone to get a feel for the MG5’s smooth handling and robust performance, powered by an 8-speed i-CVT transmission paired with a naturally aspirated engine.

Continuing from Melaka, the convoy embarked on a thrilling route, passing through Machap and crossing the picturesque Sungai Johor Bridge before reaching the stunning coastal destination of Desaru. The drive provided ample opportunities for media representatives to experience the MG5’s impressive stability and comfort, enhanced by the advanced MG Pilot driving system, which ensured safety and ease throughout the journey.

The event concluded with a laid-back evening gathering at Sand & Sandals Desaru, where media attendees shared positive feedback about the drive and the car’s performance. SAIC Motor Malaysia also took the opportunity to offer a glimpse into its exciting plans, reaffirming its commitment to introducing innovative, stylish, and energy-efficient vehicles to the Malaysian market.
